FreightLine — Virtual Cargo Operations
FreightLine is a free, browser-based cargo mission and dispatch companion for flight-simulation enthusiasts. It is designed for simmers who want more context and operational structure than simply choosing two airports and loading an arbitrary payload.
The program generates plausible cargo assignments using a large database of cargo routes, operators, aircraft and geographic markets. Each assignment includes an origin, destination, aircraft, flight identity, schedule information, payload, cargo manifest and a collection of simulation-oriented shipping documents.
FreightLine does not connect directly to your simulator. It serves as a dispatch desk alongside Microsoft Flight Simulator, X-Plane, Prepar3D or another flight simulator of your choice.
What FreightLine does Cargo mission generation
Users can generate cargo assignments based on:

Geographic categories include markets such as US Domestic, European Domestic, Canadian Domestic, Transatlantic, Transpacific, regional operations and other international sectors.
Supported aircraft include feeder, narrow-body and wide-body freighters such as the Cessna 208, ATR 72, Boeing 727-200F, 737 freighters, 747-200F, 747-400F, 747-8F, 757-200F, 767-300F, 777F, Airbus A300-600F and MD-11F.
Routes are filtered for the chosen operating conditions, while distances are calculated as great-circle nautical-mile distances between airports.
Detailed cargo assignments
A generated flight contains multiple individual shipments rather than one generic payload figure. Depending on the assignment, cargo may include general freight, medical shipments, industrial equipment, electronics, perishables, aircraft parts and special-handling cargo.

The companies, commodities and shipment details are used to create a believable simulation scenario. They are not live bookings or actual commercial shipments.

Special loads may include realistic descriptive information such as a UN number, proper shipping name, hazard class, packing group, quantity, loading position and handling instructions.
These documents are intended to add immersion and procedural structure. They are not certified aviation, customs, dangerous-goods or weight-and-balance documents.
SimBrief integration
A mission can be sent to SimBrief with relevant information prefilled, including the aircraft, origin, destination, flight number, departure details, cargo payload and selected weight units.
After generating an operational flight plan in SimBrief, the user can retrieve an overview inside FreightLine using a Navigraph Alias or SimBrief username. Depending on the returned OFP data, the overview can display:

A SimBrief or Navigraph account is required for this portion of the program. FreightLine does not replace SimBrief and does not calculate a certified flight plan itself.
Dispatch decisions and release workflow
Some assignments include operational advisories or disruptions. The user may be asked to make a dispatch-style decision involving payload restrictions, delayed cargo, urgent aircraft parts or other simulated operational circumstances.
The selected decision can modify the mission, payload, manifest or operating notes.

This is a role-playing and organizational feature. It does not determine whether a real aircraft is legally or operationally safe to dispatch.
Flight completion and operating history
After completing a flight in the simulator, the user can enter:

The completed movement is added to a local flight-operations log. Multi-sector rotations advance to the next planned leg after the active flight is completed.
Private cargo-company profiles
Users can create their own fictional or virtual cargo operator by entering:

The custom company can then be selected as the operator for generated missions.
Company profiles, logos, preferences, saved operations and flight records are stored locally in the user’s browser. They are not intentionally uploaded to a FreightLine account or central user database.
Backup export and import tools are available. Users should export a backup before clearing browser data, changing browsers or moving to another computer.

A first-start guided tour highlights the major areas of the program and explains the intended workflow:

The generated paperwork is deliberately detailed, but it remains simplified and fictionalized for entertainment. Payload capacity, ULD placement, dangerous-goods details, schedules, shippers, consignees and operating circumstances should not be treated as authoritative real-world data.
Real-world company names may appear to provide a recognizable simulation setting. Their appearance does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, partnership or affiliation. FreightLine does not represent those organizations.
Privacy and storage
FreightLine currently operates as a browser-based application without individual user accounts.
The following information is stored locally in the browser:

Because this information remains associated with that browser and device, deleting site data or using private-browsing mode may remove it. FreightLine cannot recover locally deleted information. Users should use the backup export feature if they want to preserve or transfer their records.
When users choose to open or retrieve a SimBrief flight plan, information necessary for that action is exchanged with SimBrief according to SimBrief’s own service and privacy practices.
AI development disclosure
FreightLine was developed with substantial assistance from generative AI.
The original concept, feature direction, operational goals, visual preferences and ongoing decisions came from the project owner. AI tools were used extensively to help design the interface, write and revise code, organize the route data, implement features, troubleshoot problems, produce written material and accelerate development.
It would therefore be inaccurate to describe FreightLine as entirely hand-coded by one person. It would also be inaccurate to describe it as a one-prompt application produced without human direction. The program was developed through an iterative process in which the owner proposed features, reviewed the results, identified errors, requested corrections, made product decisions and tested the application as it evolved.
This disclosure is included because the flight-simulation community deserves clarity about how a tool was produced. AI assistance is not being hidden or presented as traditional solo software development.
The project should be judged on what it actually provides: whether it works reliably, treats users honestly, respects their privacy and adds something enjoyable to their flight-simulation experience. Feedback, corrections and constructive criticism are welcome—particularly where aviation, cargo-handling or logistics details can be made more accurate.
Current project status
FreightLine is an enthusiast project and should be considered an evolving simulation utility. Bugs, unrealistic combinations and incomplete data may still occur.
