MRAR – Atirro Aerodrome

In the green hills of the Turrialba Valley, surrounded by sugar-cane fields and rising terrain, Atirro is a classic Costa Rican bush strip. The short grass runway sits at nearly 2,000 feet, with hills close to the south and the typical mix of agricultural land and trees that defines this part of Cartago. It is the kind of place that rewards careful pattern work and a solid brief before you commit.
At just under 700 meters of natural grass, the strip is tight but workable for light singles and STOL types. Approaches demand attention: terrain to the south of runway 01, sugar cane along the edges, and the usual wildlife and drainage you find on rural fields. Nothing extreme, but the kind of flying that keeps you honest.
This X-Plane 12 scenery captures the character of the place with custom objects and textures, including the sugar-cane fields that frame the runway. It moves past the generic default look and puts you right into the Turrialba countryside. Worth adding to the logbook.
