Flying VFR across Costa Rica is already special — volcanoes, valleys, Pacific and Caribbean coasts within a short hop. What was missing was the human scale: the buildings, churches, stadiums and everyday landmarks that turn a pretty landscape into a place you recognize from the cockpit.
VFR Costa Rica Landmarks fills that gap. Built from SketchUp models and original objects, it places hundreds of recognizable structures across the country, with particular care in San José, Liberia and Cartago. The result is a scenery pack that rewards low-level flying and sightseeing as much as airport hopping.
Fully compatible with Ortho4XP, AutoOrtho and SimHeaven’s X-World America Pro, it sits comfortably on top of photo scenery without fighting it. Originally based on the “Edificios de Costa Rica” project by Luis Jimenez (TicoSim), this version expands the object variety, improves textures and refines placement so the cities and towns feel lived-in rather than empty.
Whether you’re departing San José, cruising the Central Valley or exploring Guanacaste, the landmarks give the country a sense of place that default scenery simply doesn’t have. Worth adding to every Costa Rica installation.

Installation
1. Extract the folder into your `X-Plane/Custom Scenery` directory.
2. Place VFR Costa Rica Landmarks (or `1 Costa Rica VFR landmarks_PVFR`) near the top of your `scenery_packs.ini` to avoid conflicts.
3. Install the following required libraries:
