About

Soummam – Abane Ramdane Airport (French: Aéroport de Bejaia / Soummam – Abane Ramdane) (IATA: BJA, ICAO: DAAE), also known as Soummam Airport or Bejaia Airport, is an airport serving Béjaïa, a city in the Béjaïa Province of northern Algeria. It is located 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) south of the city, It was opened in 1982 to national level and its quick development led to its opening of international traffic in 1993. The airport is named Abane Ramdane (1920–1957)( since 1999 by presidential decree), an Algerian revolutionary and architect of the 1956 Congress of Soummam.

In 2008, the airport handled 52,681 passengers on domestic flights and 170,724 passengers on international flights. The airport usually offers flights internationally (fulfilled by Air Algerie) to France (ranging from Paris, Lyon and Marseille) however this has been temporarily stopped due to the current situation. Nationally though there are flights to Algiers (Air Algerie) and charter flights to Hassi Messaoud (by Tassili Airlines).

Libraries Required (clicking on the library will redirect you to it):

Recommended:

  • Ortho
  • Up to date Airac for ILS

NOTE: Please be aware that there is a big ILS offset. The approaches are still doable but rely on your visual skills more than the ILS or RNAV. I concluded that there was no way to ultimately fix this from my side however if you are experienced, you can still edit the ILS files yourself at your own risk (back up 100% recommended if you choose to do so).

This airport was created for X-Plane by me however buildings and most objects were converted from FSX/P3D with permission from @BPW scenery.
